   “Taking a hit of marijuana has been known to stop a full blown asthma attack.” Dr. Donald Tashkin This would confirm cannabis expanding the airways allowing better breathing.

   After major surgery (colon resection) the doctor came in with this plastic breathing device called a Triflo. People have a problem breathing deeply follow surgery due to pain and this devise helps you measure your breathing. The Triflo has three blue balls inside a clear plastic box and you make the balls rise by sucking air into your chest as you would suck on a straw. The light blue ball comes up first, followed by the medium blue ball, and finally the dark blue ball. You try to hold up as many balls as possible, then relax, and let the balls drop.

   I had been smoking for 35 years when I had this surgery and I was able to hold all three balls up in the devise up with my first try. Was this due to my daily cannabis use or my desire to flee the hospital? I would say both!
